Milan trade show : a good venue to spot emerging talents
If you are a buyer, if you are looking for new designers, if you are scouting for the new trends to be then White Milan is the trade show to visit. Always over the weekend of Milan Fashion Week, White trade show is the perfect showcase for emerging talents as well as the right location to look into accessories and jewelry for the season to come. White Milan trade show is not only for Italian brands hence it hosts an interesting variety of international brands. No wonder why this tear they welcomed 23.129 buyers a growth of +14% of international ones. This year, the opening was celebrated by a special event : the fashion show of Situationist, the brand created by Georgian designer Irakli Rusadze. The catwalk was held in the magical setting of the Leonardo Da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology, setting the tone to the three days exhibition.

For my job as a Jewelry Consultant, I never miss a visit to this trade show. I am always very intrigued by the way fashion jewellery is presented and how much trends are often expressed in a very creative way, giving jewellery a new flair and appeal. This season again, the main trends went towards the idea of using jewellery as a way to « adorn the body » away from the most traditional usage. Great emphasis was on hands and fingers like if jewellery became a sort of net around your hands, depicting strong looks but often also romantic gestures like Henna tattoos. Another trend I observed is the innovation with materials and techniques. The season the plash was really on bacheliers, resins and epoxy colored metals. The vitamins colours of these materials gave a flair of intriguing optimism to most of the assortments. Needless to say that crystal stones are still the best companion of all these jewellery creations and they were presented in vivid colours as well a special effects and coating.
